Moscow's Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports have suspended operations

UA NEWS 18 June 2026 08:50
Moscow's Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports have suspended operations

Due to an attack by Ukrainian drones on Moscow, Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports have imposed temporary restrictions on the arrival and departure of aircraft.

It is reported that earlier, Sheremetyevo Airport had also restricted the arrival and departure of aircraft. Incoming flights were diverted to alternate airports. Passengers were evacuated at the airport, including those from aircraft.

After several hours of downtime, the restrictions were lifted.

This was reported by Rosaviatsiya.

As a reminder, on the night of June 18, Moscow and the Moscow Region came under a massive drone attack. Russian Telegram channels reported drone flights, explosions, and fires in various areas of the Russian capital.

Prior to this, Russian occupation forces deployed new “Volna-Kupol-Garant” electronic warfare systems to counter the Starlink satellite communication system.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR MODU) released a video of combat operations by the “Ghosts” special forces unit, aimed at disrupting the logistical arteries of Russian troops in April–May 2026.
