Spanish resorts have introduced new strict rules for tourists

Spanish authorities have tightened restrictions on tourists at popular resorts, including Mallorca and Ibiza.

This was reported by Express.

The new rules are aimed at combating antisocial behavior by vacationers, which has recently been causing growing discontent among local residents.

The restrictions particularly apply to popular resort areas such as Magaluf and San Antonio. There, consuming alcohol in public places is prohibited—fines ranging from 500 to 3,000 euros are imposed for this offense.

Tourists may also be fined for loud behavior at night if it disturbs others.

In addition, some resorts have introduced restrictions on all-inclusive packages: tourists are allowed no more than six alcoholic drinks per day, divided between lunch and dinner.

Hotels may charge an additional fee for exceeding this limit, and popular alcohol promotions, such as “two for the price of one,” are restricted.

Also, in certain areas, the sale of alcohol is prohibited at night—from 9:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Fines for violations, including drinking alcohol on the streets and beaches, can reach 3,000 euros.
