A large-scale fire is being extinguished in the Carpathian region
“Firefighters are currently battling a fire involving dry grass and shrubs in an open area near the village of Rivnya in the Kalush district. Rescue workers have already contained the fire to an area of 4 hectares,” according to a statement from emergency responders.
According to rescue officials, on August 29, a dry grass fire broke out near Rozhnyativ, covering an area of approximately 2,000 m². During firefighting operations, another fire pocket covering an area of approximately 3,000 m² was discovered.
Later, the State Emergency Service reported that the dry grass fire near the village of Rozhniativ, covering an area of 500 m², had been extinguished. At the same time, emergency responders discovered another fire hotspot near the village of Rivnya, covering an area of about 5,000 m².
According to rescue workers, a total of eight fires involving dry grass and debris broke out on August 30 in open areas in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Kalush, Kosiv, and Nadvirna districts.
