The German party "AdN" has reached an all-time high in voter support

The far-right party "Alternative for Germany" achieved its highest-ever result, garnering 29% of respondents' support and widening the gap between itself and its closest political rivals. The recorded figure exceeded the previous week’s data by one percentage point, cementing the party’s leading position in the country.

This was reported by dpa.de. The opposition CDU/CSU bloc, on the other hand, showed its worst performance in the last four years, losing one percentage point and falling to 22% of the vote.

The current governing coalition also continues to lose popularity among the population amid general political and economic instability, which has intensified globally following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The Conservatives’ partners from the Social Democratic Party of Germany lost one percentage point and, if parliamentary elections were held this coming Sunday, could count on only 12% support. Collectively, the ruling alliance garners 34% of the vote, which is completely insufficient to form a stable majority in the Bundestag.

The Greens showed some growth in voter support, rising to 14%, their best result in the last two and a half years. The Left Party slightly weakened its position, dropping to 10%, while other German polling institutes estimate the current level of support for the far-right at between 25% and 28%, and for the CDU/CSU bloc at between 22% and 24%. The current INSA survey is based on a poll of 1,203 citizens conducted between last Monday and Friday, with a maximum margin of error of 2.9%.
