Boris the deer from the Wildlife Rescue Center took his first steps after his injury

Boris, the deer who has become a social media sensation, has shown significant progress in his rehabilitation, taking his first steps on his own while leaning on his injured leg. 

After a serious accident, the complex fracture took a very long time to heal, causing the leg muscles to atrophy noticeably, as the exhausted animal was unable to put any weight on its leg for an extended period. 

The organization’s specialists emphasized that this long-awaited improvement was made possible by comprehensive professional treatment, a balanced, high-quality diet, and round-the-clock care from the staff. The deer has now been moved to a spacious open enclosure. Animal welfare advocates are hopeful that spending time outdoors in the sun and having ample space for daily activity will help Boris gradually strengthen his leg and fully restore his atrophied muscles.

The Wildlife Rescue Center officially announced the positive changes in Boris’s condition on its Facebook page.

Earlier, Boris the celebrity deer was found in the Rivne region after going missing.

It was previously known that Boris the deer was alive but had already lost a lot of blood. The animal has a head injury and a broken hind leg, making it difficult for him to move. Currently, treatment is being sought for Boris.

Boris the deer, who became famous on social media and lived among people in Zarichne in the Rivne region, was in serious condition following a traffic accident.
