Magnetic storm forecast for June 11–12 has been released
Magnetic storms are forecast for June 11–12, which may cause minor geomagnetic fluctuations. Such phenomena sometimes affect the well-being of weather-sensitive people, causing headaches, fatigue, or increased irritability due to fluctuations in atmospheric pressure.
Geomagnetic activity is measured on a scale from 0 to 9. The planetary K-index is used for classification; a reading of 5 or higher indicates a strong magnetic storm.
On Thursday, June 11, solar activity with a K-index of 3 (green level) is expected, corresponding to weak magnetic storms.
On Friday, June 12, solar activity with a K-index of 4 (yellow level) is expected, corresponding to moderate magnetic storms.
It is important to note that magnetic storm forecasts may change, as solar activity researchers update their data every three hours
This forecast is based on data provided by NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC).
