The top cities in the ranking are Beijing, Hangzhou (Zhejiang province) and Shanghai. The top five also feature Nanjing (Jiangsu province) and Xiamen (Fujian province). Among small and medium-sized cities, Huzhou, Jinhua and Quzhou — all in Zhejiang — scored best.
The report highlights that even leading cities lag behind in promoting healthy behaviour. Improvements are also needed in ecology and medical infrastructure, which currently remain concentrated mostly in the largest megacities.
