Ann Shadin, an actress from the TV series *Alf*, has died
American actress Ann Shadin, who gained worldwide fame for her role as Kate Tanner in the cult TV series “Alf,” has died at the age of 77. The actress’s representatives announced her death on June 15.
In the statement, her loved ones noted that the actress “passed away peacefully,” leaving behind a rich creative legacy and fond memories for her family, friends, and fans.
Her family described Shadin as a person with boundless energy who devoted herself not only to acting but also to the arts.
“Without her, we feel lost. We loved her so much, as did everyone who knew her. She was a true force. And it’s impossible to imagine life without her. But she used to say, ‘I’m always with you.’ And she’s right. Memories, works of art, genuine laughter, handmade jewelry, oil paintings, sculptures, costumes, and a general joy for life remain with us,” the statement reads.
Throughout her life, Ann Shadin was passionate about painting, sculpture, and creating handmade jewelry, and she loved animals very much.
She is survived by her husband, Christopher Barrett, with whom she was married for 55 years; her daughter, Taylor Barrett; her daughter-in-law, Hilary Flynn; her sister, Sarabeth Shadin; brother Roland “Tony” Shadin, and other family members. The cause of the actress’s death has not been disclosed by her family.
As a reminder, 81-year-old actor James Handy was killed in Los Angeles.
