Putin thanked Kadyrov's 20-year-old son for his "many years of service"

Russian dictator Putin honored Akhmat Kadyrov, the 20-year-old son of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, with a commendation for his contributions to physical culture and sports and his “many years of dedicated service.”

The corresponding decree was published on Monday, March 30, on Putin’s website. Currently, Kadyrov Jr. holds the position of Deputy Prime Minister of the Chechen Republic, to which he was appointed in January of this year.

Earlier, Ramzan Kadyrov, introducing his son to his new position, noted his significant managerial experience and exceptional professional qualities. The appointment of 20-year-old Akhmat Kadyrov took place as part of personnel changes in the region’s leadership, where members of the Chechen leader’s family routinely receive high-level government posts. Thus, the Kremlin officially endorsed the rapid political rise of the republic’s leader’s son, rewarding him for his work despite his young age. The Russian president’s commendation served as formal confirmation of the Chechen authorities’ loyalty to the central leadership.

Another son of the Chechen leader, 18-year-old Adam Kadyrov, appeared in the media for the first time in a long while following the accident.

As a reminder, Kadyrov responded to rumors about a traffic accident involving his son.

Also, following the accident, Adam Kadyrov may lose sight in one eye.
