Donald Trump's approval rating has dropped to 35% — poll
Only 35% of Americans currently approve of Donald Trump’s performance as U.S. president, one of the lowest approval ratings of his two terms.
This was reported Wednesday by The Hill.
According to a The Economist/YouGov poll conducted from March 27 to 30, 2026, only 21% of respondents are fully satisfied with the White House chief’s performance. At the same time, the level of dissatisfaction has reached 58%, with 48% of those surveyed strongly disapproving of the current administration’s policies.
Analysts note that Trump is beginning to lose support even among his most loyal electorate. The share of 2024 voters who view his performance positively has dropped from 84% to 76% over the past three weeks. The level of disapproval among supporters has risen from 12% to 19%, indicating an internal erosion of confidence in the president’s course against the backdrop of escalating international conflicts and economic instability.
Current figures are approaching the record low of November 2017, when Trump’s approval rating stood at 34%. The decline in popularity coincides with the president’s high-profile statements about a possible U.S. withdrawal from NATO and the conduct of military operations against Iran. Against this backdrop, American society is demonstrating growing skepticism regarding the administration’s ability to ensure stability and protect national interests without jeopardizing global security. The release of these figures on the eve of Trump’s address to the nation adds political weight to his upcoming speech.
Prior to this, Donald Trump’s approval rating had dropped to a critical 36%, a significant decline from the start of his term, when the U.S. president had 47%.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has emerged as the leading conservative contender for the upcoming presidential election.
