Exports of Russian oil and LNG through Baltic ports have partially halted following attacks by Ukraine.
This is reported by Reuters.
This concerns the key ports of Ust-Luga and Primorsk, from which tanker shipments have significantly decreased.
Currently, not all vessels can leave the ports, which has caused a serious disruption in supply.
Russia’s losses are estimated at over $70–75 million daily solely due to the halt in oil exports via the Baltic Sea.
Before the attacks, over 2 million barrels of oil and petroleum products were exported daily via the Baltic Sea, and 40–50 tankers passed through each week.
This is one of the most significant disruptions in Russian oil exports in recent times.
As a reminder, on the night of March 26, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the Kirishi Oil Refinery in the city of Kirishi, Leningrad region, Russia.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully struck a strategically important facility of the Russian Federation’s fuel and energy infrastructure. The target was the Bashneft–Ufaneftekhim oil refinery, located in the city of Ufa, approximately 1,400 kilometers from Ukraine’s state border.
