Ukrzaliznytsia Receives First Six Domestically Manufactured Passenger Cars – Video

The national carrier’s fleet has been expanded with six Ukrainian-made railcars, which constitute the first batch of a large order for 100 units from the Kryukiv Railway Car Building Works. The new rolling stock will enter service as part of the flagship train as early as April 28. 

This was announced by Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.

 

 

 

 

The total value of the contract is approximately 6.5 billion UAH, and deliveries of all ordered cars will continue in phases until May 2028. By the end of this year, the manufacturer is to provide the company with another 60 units. The project has brought together over 150 domestic enterprises, including companies from frontline regions that continue to operate despite Russian aggression.

The upgrade includes modern compartment and accessible railcars equipped with air conditioning, batteries, and amenities for passengers traveling with children. The order also includes next-generation railcars with a service life extended by 20 years. The new rolling stock is already in Kyiv and is undergoing final preparations for its maiden voyage.
