Russia attacked gas stations in Zaporizhzhia and Sumy, causing fires to break out

On the morning of June 25, Russian forces carried out yet another drone attack on Ukrainian territory. Gas stations in Zaporizhzhia and Sumy were hit, resulting in fires.

Artem Kobzar, acting mayor of Sumy, reported that around 6:00 a.m., a Russian “Molniya”-type drone struck one of the gas stations in the Zarichny district of the city.

“At around 6:00 a.m., a ‘Molniya’-type UAV was recorded striking one of the gas stations in the Zarichny district of the city… A fire broke out at the site,” Kobzar said.

Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that the thick smoke over the city was the result of a Russian drone strike on the gas station.

According to him, it was the attack on the gas station that caused the fire, which was visible from various parts of the city.

At around 7:00 a.m., the Ukrainian Air Force had warned of enemy drones moving toward the Zaporizhzhia and Sumy regions.

The extent of the damage from the attacks is currently being assessed, information regarding possible casualties is being verified, and emergency services are on the scene.

Authorities also emphasize that the threat of new drone attacks in these regions remains a concern.

As a reminder, on June 25, rescue workers extinguished a fire at an industrial facility in the Poltava region that was caused by a Russian attack. Emergency responders continued their work after the facility was struck by enemy weapons.

The Russian army struck the Poltava district, killing two people and raising the number of casualties to 14, including six children

Since the evening, Russian troops have carried out more than 20 attacks on three districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region, using aerial bombs, drones, and artillery. As a result of the enemy strikes, one person was killed and nine others were wounded.
