The CPC disclosed information about the luxury properties owned by the family of Papusha, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office
The Anti-Corruption Center has published a dossier on Yuriy Papusha, the newly appointed head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. The report details the assets, business ties, and wealth of his family members, as well as his appointment as prosecutor without an open competition.
According to the Anti-Corruption Center, Yuriy Papusha drives a 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE 300D worth approximately 1.8 million hryvnias, which is registered in the name of his wife, Anastasia. She is the owner of Yur-Agro Group LLC and a co-owner of Agro-Olimp 2006 LLC.
The organization also draws attention to the prosecutor’s wife’s business partners, who include a former candidate from the banned “Nash Kray” party, Serhiy Kosik, former head of the Southern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service; and the son of Natalia Bohatska, chair of the Southwestern Commercial Court of Appeal.
The CPC pays particular attention to the prosecutor’s family. Specifically, Yuriy Papusha’s father—Ihor Papusha—was removed from his position as head of the Southern Region Military Prosecutor’s Office following the Revolution of Dignity. At the same time, according to the organization, his company subsequently received government contracts worth tens of millions of hryvnias and was implicated in criminal proceedings regarding the possible embezzlement of budget funds.
The CPC also notes that the prosecutor’s sister became the owner of an apartment measuring over 100 square meters in Odesa when she was just seven years old. In addition, the family is alleged to own other real estate, including a house near Kyiv, an apartment and a plot of land in Rivne, a vacation resort on the Shatsk Lakes, and the prosecutor’s mother-in-law owns a plot of land and a house in the “Sovinion” cottage community near Odesa.
The Anti-Corruption Center stated that these circumstances highlight the need to reinstate open competitions for the positions of heads of regional prosecutor’s offices, as the current system allows for their appointment without a transparent selection process.
