Russia has added the leadership of the "Free Russia" Foundation to its list of terrorists

Rosfinmonitoring has added the leadership of the Free Russia Foundation to its official list of terrorists and extremists. This move triggers the automatic initiation of criminal cases within the Russian Federation against all key figures of the organization, which has consistently supported Ukraine in the war and advocated for democratic change in the Russian Federation.

This was reported by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

The following individuals have been added to the aggressor country’s repressive registry:

  • Foundation President Natalia Arno (Budayeva);

  • The organization’s vice presidents, Vladimir Milov and Grigory Frolov;

  • Olga Galkina, coordinator of the Berlin-based Reforum Space Berlin project, which operates within the foundation;

  • Alexandra Garmazhapova, a well-known journalist and founder of the “Free Buryatia” Foundation.

All individuals on the list currently reside abroad. The “Free Russia” organization faces systematic persecution by the Kremlin: as early as 2024, the Russian Ministry of Justice designated it an “extremist organization,” and another vice president of the foundation, Russian opposition figure Vladimir Kara-Murza, was added to a similar list much earlier.

The leadership of the Free Russia Foundation has officially confirmed the information regarding the Russian regulator’s actions. In a special statement, representatives of the organization called this decision another stage in the crackdown and repression against anti-war voices. The head of the foundation, Natalia Arno, emphasized that the world’s leading terrorists are currently right in the Kremlin, and the reaction of Russian law enforcement agencies only proves the effectiveness and correctness of her team’s work.

Earlier, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow sentenced Ukrainian producer Oleksandr Rodnyansky in absentia to 8 years and 6 months in a penal colony for his anti-war posts.

The Basmanny District Court of Moscow also arrested Ukrainian TV host Masha Yefrosinina in absentia in a case involving war-related disinformation.
