Russia has sentenced SBS commander Madjar to life imprisonment in absentia

The Second Western District Military Court of the Russian Federation has handed down a verdict in absentia against Robert Brovda, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, known by the call sign “Madyar.”

The Russian court sentenced the Ukrainian officer to life imprisonment on charges of organizing a successful operation in the Kursk region.

According to the case file, the Ukrainian military is accused of remotely planting an explosive device on a highway in the Kursk region in March 2025.

The explosion destroyed a UAZ vehicle carrying representatives of the Russian propaganda channel “First Channel” and military equipment.

During the incident, correspondent Anna Prokofieva was killed, while cameraman Dmitry Volkov and three other accompanying individuals sustained injuries of varying severity.

The Russian side claims that the propagandists were transporting unmanned aerial vehicles for the needs of Russian occupation forces, which effectively made them a legitimate target.

As a reminder, "Madyar" showed drone strikes on two thermal power plants in occupied Donetsk Oblast.

The SBS commander also calls for punishment for violations of the law during mobilization.
