The U.S. and Iran may hold talks in Islamabad as early as this week — Axios

Representatives from the U.S. and Iran may meet in Pakistan's capital as early as the end of this week. 

Axios reports this, citing journalist Barak Ravid.

According to him, U.S. Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are in contact with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

Mediating countries are currently working to organize a meeting in Islamabad. It is expected that Ghalibaf and other representatives will participate on the Iranian side, while Witkoff, Kushner, and likely Vice President J.D. Vance will represent the U.S.

According to the source, the talks could take place as early as the end of this week.
