It has been revealed who might replace Koretsky at Naftogaz
Yuriy Tkachuk, the head of JSC “Ukrgazvydobuvannya,” is considered the leading candidate for the position of interim acting chairman of the board of NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine.” His likely appointment to this position is directly linked to personnel changes in the government.
Yuriy Tkachuk is expected to take the helm of the state-owned company immediately after the current head of Naftogaz, Serhiy Koretskyi, is officially appointed as Prime Minister of Ukraine. Tkachuk is expected to temporarily lead the company until an official competitive selection process for the position of permanent head is held. On Monday, July 13, he was officially appointed to the Naftogaz board.
Yuriy Tkachuk is an experienced manager with over 25 years of professional experience in the energy and industrial sectors. Since November 2022, he has served as Chief Financial Officer of JSC “Ukrnafta,” where he was responsible for financial strategy, risk management, and investment policy, and from May through December 2025, he served as interim head of the company. Starting in May 2025, he served as acting chairman of JSC “Ukrgazvydobuvannya,” and in December 2025, he was officially appointed as the company’s CEO.
