The Kremlin has stated that the war against Ukraine could end today

The Kremlin has stated that "peace" in Ukraine could supposedly be achieved immediately if the Ukrainian leadership makes the appropriate decisions.

This was stated by Putin’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov.

According to him, “peace could come as early as today” if President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “takes responsibility.”

At the same time, Peskov did not specify exactly what decisions he was referring to.

Earlier, the Kremlin had voiced demands that effectively call for the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the unoccupied territories of Donetsk Oblast.

Thus, the Russian side is once again attempting to shift the blame for the continuation of the war onto Ukraine by pushing conditions that amount to surrender.

Additionally, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin announced a temporary cessation of hostilities on the front lines, effective from 4:00 p.m. Moscow time on April 11 until the end of the day on April 12, 2026.

Zelenskyy proposed an energy ceasefire brokered by the United States.
