Ukraine has resumed oil transit via the Druzhba pipeline
Ukraine has resumed oil shipments via the Druzhba pipeline. Supplies to Slovakia are expected to resume as early as the morning of April 23.
This was reported by Slovak Economy Minister Denisa Saková.
“According to information from Ukrtransnafta, pressure began to rise this morning and the Druzhba pipeline is being filled on the Ukrainian side from Belarus,” she noted.
According to her, following the technical restoration of the pipeline’s operation, oil transportation to Slovakia should stabilize in the near future.
The resumption of transit comes amid Ukraine’s negotiations with the European Union regarding financial support. The issue of energy cooperation, particularly oil supplies, remains a key factor in economic stability and cooperation with European partners.
Earlier, European Council President António Costa publicly thanked Volodymyr Zelenskyy for restoring the section of the Druzhba oil pipeline. Ukraine announced the completion of repair work following damage to the infrastructure caused by a Russian strike. The EU described this as the fulfillment of agreements.
The European Commission expects that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will soon officially announce the resumption of oil pumping through Ukraine via the Druzhba pipeline.
