Ukrainian drones for the front lines are manufactured almost entirely within the country

Ukrainian drones for the front lines are manufactured almost entirely within the country

About 95% of the drones supplied to the Ukrainian Defense Forces are manufactured domestically. The Ministry of Defense explains that the DOT-Chain Defense digital procurement system has accelerated the development of domestic production. In just a few months, the military received hundreds of thousands of units of equipment through this new procurement model.

The DOT-Chain Defence system played a key role in increasing the share of Ukrainian drones, effectively reshaping the approach to defense procurement. It has fostered a more competitive environment among manufacturers, compelled companies to update their products more quickly and improve their services, and made demand more predictable.

The ministry notes that, as a result, Ukrainian companies were able to expand their production capacity and establish themselves as the primary suppliers of unmanned aerial vehicles to the army. This means that a significant portion of the front’s needs is now met not by imports but by domestic production, which quickly adapts to changes on the battlefield.

Separately, the Ministry of Defense highlights the scale of deliveries via the DOT-Chain Defense digital system: In less than five months of 2026, the military received approximately 485,000 UAVs and other weapons and equipment, totaling 31.4 billion hryvnias.

In fact, this demonstrates a transition to a new model of military logistics, where technological solutions and digital platforms are becoming no less important than production capacity itself. The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that the development of the domestic drone market directly impacts the Defense Forces’ ability to quickly obtain the necessary weapons and reconnaissance assets without delays associated with external supplies. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.

A series of powerful explosions rocked the Russian city of Voronezh, likely caused by a missile strike.

On the night of June 22, Russian authorities reported a massive drone attack on Moscow and several regions of the Russian Federation. According to Russian officials, 59 drones were allegedly destroyed as they approached the capital.

In the temporarily occupied city of Armiansk, located on the Crimean Peninsula, a building belonging to the Border Guard Service of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation caught fire as a result of a nighttime drone attack.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine will continue to intensify long-range strikes on Russian territory and expand the capabilities of its own drones.
