Recruitment and Intelligence Gathering
According to the case file, Oleg Lomaka, a native of Volyn, came to the attention of Russian intelligence services in March 2025. Over the following months, he gathered data on Poland’s industrial and defense infrastructure.
In particular, he recorded information about enterprises in the city of Bydgoszcz involved in the production of components for the defense sector and cooperation with Ukrainian entities—a chemical plant and an electromechanical enterprise. According to the prosecution, the data obtained could have been used to undermine the defense capabilities of Ukraine and its allies.
The verdict can be appealed
The court found Lomaka guilty of treason and sentenced him to eight years in prison. The verdict may still be appealed in accordance with the law.
