Strong winds are expected to hit Ukraine; a storm warning has been issued
On May 26, Ukraine will be hit by strong winds with gusts of up to 20 m/s, and forecasters have already issued a yellow danger alert for nearly all regions. The only area expected to remain relatively calm is Zakarpattia, where no warning has been issued. This information comes from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
A significant deterioration in weather conditions is approaching Ukraine, and forecasters are already warning of squall-force winds tomorrow that will cover nearly the entire country, creating dangerous conditions on roads and in open areas.
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, on the afternoon of May 26, wind gusts of 15–20 m/s are expected in most regions, prompting a yellow danger level alert; the only exception will be Zakarpattia, where no storm warning is in effect.
Despite the stronger winds, temperatures will remain quite comfortable: in the west and center of the country, temperatures are forecast to reach 23–26 degrees Celsius, in the south up to 27 degrees in some places, and it will be coolest in the north, where temperatures will drop to 16–19 degrees.
Forecasters also note that rain is most likely in the northeast and east of the country, particularly in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, while the rest of the territory will remain under cloudy skies with occasional clear spells.
Experts advise taking weather conditions into account, especially when traveling or spending time outdoors, as strong gusts of wind could complicate conditions in cities and on highways.
On Monday, May 25, variable cloudiness is expected across Ukraine, with brief showers in some areas, and daytime temperatures rising to +29°C.
