Russian propagandists calling for the torture of prisoners and an attack on Kyiv have been exposed in Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine has identified and detained four more pro-Russian agitators in various regions of the country. Among them are individuals who called for the torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war and a missile strike on Kyiv.

This was reported by the SBU press center.

In the Kyiv region, law enforcement officers exposed a senior deacon of the Kyiv Metropolis of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), who, in Telegram chat rooms, incited Russian military personnel to mistreat Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers held captive.

It has been documented that the cleric called for imprisoning Ukrainian soldiers in Russian prisons, keeping them without food or water for extended periods, and sending them “to hard labor.”

In the Cherkasy region, a local unemployed man was charged after praising Russian President Vladimir Putin in messaging apps and calling for a strike on Kyiv using the “Oreshnik” missile.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, an archimandrite, the former rector of a church in the Sieversk-Donetsk Diocese of the UOC (MP), was exposed. According to the investigation, he justified the crimes of the Russian occupiers and anticipated the full occupation of Ukraine.

It has been established that after the occupation of part of the Luhansk region in 2014, he traveled to Russia, where he attempted to secure the support of the leadership of the Russian Orthodox Church. Upon returning to Ukraine, he conducted services in the Dnipropetrovsk region and incited parishioners to support the Kremlin regime. In private correspondence, he also justified the shelling of Ukrainian cities.

In the Carpathian region, SBU officers, in cooperation with the National Police, detained a woman from the Kosiv district who had called for the revival of the USSR on social media.

According to the case file, the woman posted Soviet symbols on her Facebook page and urged citizens to ignore Ukrainian law.

SBU investigators notified the suspects of charges under articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, specifically for the production and distribution of prohibited symbols, as well as for justifying the Russian Federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine.

The suspects face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Previously, the Security Service of Ukraine neutralized a Russian military intelligence agent in the Donetsk region who was planning shelling attacks on Kramatorsk and destroying property belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
