Explosions at the training ground near Khmelnytskyi have ceased: contact has been lost with five Special Operations Forces soldiers

At a training ground belonging to a military unit in the Khmelnytskyi region, where an ammunition explosion occurred on July 31, five servicemen from the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are missing. Three more soldiers were injured and are currently in the hospital.

As of 7:00 p.m., the ammunition explosions had ceased. Search and rescue operations are ongoing at the site, and the search for the soldiers with whom contact has been lost continues.

Law enforcement authorities have opened a criminal case regarding this emergency incident under Part 2 of Article 414 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—violation of rules for handling weapons and hazardous substances, resulting in bodily injury to several individuals.

The Special Operations Forces stated that they are cooperating with the investigation and providing all necessary information to determine the causes and circumstances of the incident.
