Based on reports from consumers, the State Border Guard Service issued fines totaling 3.5 million hryvnias

The State Tax Service of Ukraine has imposed more than 3.5 million hryvnias in financial penalties on violators thanks to reports from citizens via the new digital service "TAX Control."

This was reported by the State Tax Service.

This electronic tool allows anyone to promptly notify regulatory authorities of detected cases of illegal trade or other financial fraud at businesses.

Based on information received from Ukrainians, the agency’s specialists conducted a series of successful audits and held those responsible accountable.

This modern digital project has proven highly effective in combating the shadow economy and uncovering hidden business profits.

Based on the analysis of the data received, tax officials issued significant fines to those entrepreneurs who attempted to circumvent current legislation.

Official representatives of the State Tax Service note that involving the public in monitoring significantly facilitates the detection of unscrupulous taxpayers.

“The new electronic tool, introduced at the end of last year, is already showing tangible results and helping to combat the shadow economy more effectively,” the State Tax Service emphasized.

An analysis of the reports submitted allowed tax officials to compile clear statistics on the most common violations in the retail trade and service sectors.

Most often, Ukrainians encountered sellers’ reluctance to issue official receipts when purchasing goods.

The overall breakdown of complaints was as follows:

  • Failure to use cash registers (RRO/PRRO) or a categorical refusal to issue a fiscal receipt — 47%;
  • Conducting business activities without the required state registration — 30%;
  • Refusal to accept cashless card payments, trading without licenses, or the use of unregistered labor — 23%.
