Zelenskyy warned of the threat of a massive attack by Russia today

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on intelligence indicating that Russia may be preparing a massive strike in the near future.

Zelenskyy made this statement in an evening video address on March 23.

The head of state urged citizens not to ignore air raid sirens and to remain as vigilant as possible throughout the evening. According to him, air defense forces have already received orders to repel a possible attack and are on full alert.

The warning about another act of aggression by Russia came amid an escalation of the security situation in the region, including the crash of an unidentified drone in Lithuania near the border with Belarus. Meanwhile, in Moldova, President Maia Sandu declared the country’s readiness to join the “coalition of the resolute” to support Ukraine. Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of adhering to safety protocols at this critical moment to save the lives of Ukrainians.

The massive shelling by Russia could be part of a broader escalation currently unfolding on the international stage, including Israel’s recent strikes on IRGC targets in Tehran. While Ukrainian intelligence tracks the movement of Russian offensive assets, the government continues to work on strengthening defense capabilities and securing international aid. The situation at the front and in the rear remains under close monitoring by the country’s military leadership.

On the night of March 14, Russian forces launched a massive attack on the Kyiv region using drones and missiles. Civilian settlements came under fire, resulting in casualties. Ukraine’s air defense forces neutralized 460 Russian targets—58 missiles and 402 drones of various types.
