Lunaz to double Silverstone workforce due to demand from US collectors — Motor1

British restomod company Lunaz plans to double its workforce at its facility near Silverstone in the United Kingdom and introduce a second production shift. American customers have filled all production allocations for Range Rover Classic and Aston Martin orders, Motor1 reports.

Over the next two years, Lunaz plans to create around 40 jobs. The company intends to recruit specialists in design, coachbuilding, engine development and electrification.

The second shift will cover restoration, body engineering, powertrain integration, interior trimming and final vehicle assembly. All this work is carried out at the company’s site in Northamptonshire.

Lunaz’s facility, located near the Silverstone circuit, covers 65,000 square feet. According to the company, demand in the United States has exceeded the current production capacity of the site. Lunaz founder and CEO David Lorenz said the response from the US market demonstrates the place of such cars in automotive culture.

Range Rover and Aston Martin

The Range Rover Classic series is limited to 25 vehicles, which Lunaz plans to produce in 2027. The company says the limit is driven by production capacity rather than low demand; some of these vehicles have already been reserved by buyers from the United States.

For each order, a donor Range Rover Classic is stripped down to its metal body, after which the vehicle is rebuilt with a Lunaz electric powertrain or a modern LS3 V8 engine. Both options produce more than 350 hp. Customers can choose a two-door, four-door, long-wheelbase or open-body version, as well as colours, leather and trim materials.

In the Aston Martin DB series, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the DB model, Lunaz uses a hand-built 5.0-litre V8 producing 350 hp. The company also reported growing demand for its Bentley, Rolls-Royce and Jaguar-based projects.
