Porsche considers bringing Flachbau RS elements to production 911s
As part of its Sonderwunsch program, Porsche has created a one-off 911 GT2 RS Flachbau RS featuring a “slantnose” design. Porsche Vice President for Product and Individualization Alexander Fabig said that such bespoke projects can inspire production models, and that individual Flachbau RS elements or reinterpretations of them could become part of the production offering. A one-off project based on the GT2 RS
The Flachbau RS was built on the basis of a 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The car recreates the Slantnose styling known from the Porsche 935. At the same time, Porsche has not announced the launch of a production version of the 911 with this design: there are no confirmed timelines, trim name, or specific model.
The sports car is equipped with a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine producing 700 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. The car’s features include flatter wheel-arch contours, a new headlight system, and a rear wing borrowed from the racing Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport.

According to Fabig, the Sonderwunsch concept was intended from the outset to inspire Porsche production products. He noted that the production offering may include not exact copies of such cars, but individual elements or interpretations of their design.
In 1983, Mansour Ojjeh ordered a 935 Street with a slantnose. During the 1980s, Porsche offered approximately 948 Slantnose 911s as a factory option for the 930-generation Turbo. The company had also previously included the X50 and X51 power-up kits in its options list, which had initially been individual customer requests.
