Seikel has unveiled an off-road kit for the Volkswagen ID. Buzz
The German company Seikel has developed a modification kit for the Volkswagen ID. Buzz electric minivan, designed to make the vehicle better suited for driving on dirt and forest roads. The kit includes a modified suspension, wheels with off-road tires, and underbody protection.
According to InsideEVs, the kit includes KW shocks, Eibach springs, 20-inch wheels, and BF Goodrich Trail Terrain T/A tires. Seikel also offers two aluminum skid plates mounted under the front and rear axles. They replace the stock plastic components and protect the front and rear drive modules, as well as the front radiator assembly.
The skid plates are made of 5-millimeter-thick aluminum. Thanks to the new suspension and wheels, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz’s ground clearance increases by 30 millimeters.

At the same time, these modifications do not alter the electric vehicle’s traction control system. The Volkswagen ID. Buzz does not have a special off-road traction control mode, although it is available in the all-wheel-drive version with two electric motors. In Seikel’s demonstration video, the car occasionally loses traction when one wheel is off the ground.
The company has not disclosed the full cost of the kit. The price of the two skid plates is 1,390 euros before taxes. InsideEVs notes that, taking into account suspension components, wheels, and tires, the total cost of the upgrade will likely exceed $5,000.
The Volkswagen ID. Buzz is also available in the 2027 model year Tourer 4Motion version, equipped with a fold-out mattress and platform, window shades, and ventilation panels.
