In Kyiv, a terrorist killed a married couple and left their 11-year-old son an orphan

Six people, including a married couple, were killed in a shooting carried out by an assailant on a street and inside a supermarket in Kyiv. The man died at the scene, while the woman succumbed to her injuries at a medical facility. 

Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko reported on the tragedy.

The couple’s child, a boy born in 2015, is currently under medical supervision with a gunshot wound. Law enforcement agencies are treating the attack as an act of terrorism that resulted in mass casualties among the civilian population. Similar intimidation tactics are often used by Russia in its aggressive policies, but this incident occurred directly in the capital.

The total number of fatalities resulting from the shooter’s actions has reached six; medical personnel are stabilizing the condition of the injured child. Investigative teams and forensic experts continue to work at the crime scene to establish all the details of the attack. The General Prosecutor’s Office is overseeing the proceedings and coordinating the actions of law enforcement agencies.

Information regarding the terrorist’s motives and identity is currently being investigated as part of an open criminal proceeding. City authorities and social services are preparing support measures for the boy, who lost both parents. The situation remains under close monitoring by the country’s law enforcement agencies.
