Video: In Teremky, Kyiv's municipal security forces forcibly drag protesters away

In Kyiv’s Teremky neighborhood, municipal security guards began forcibly removing protesters from the area where a backup heating pipeline is to be laid in case of an emergency shutdown of CHPP-5. The construction of the heating pipeline is set to involve the cutting down of 100-year-old oak trees.

Since the morning of September 21, law enforcement officers have been guarding the area in the Teremky neighborhood. Construction workers are welding metal structures to erect a fence and prevent residents from entering the site.

This was reported by Suspilne.

As a reminder, starting at 5:30 a.m. on September 21, police buses arrived at the site of the heating pipeline construction in Teremky; they are blocking any public access to the area where trees are being cut down.

The conflict in Kyiv’s Teremky neighborhood has been ongoing for several months and centers on plans to cut down more than 660 trees. Local residents claim that city authorities have not provided them with documentation regarding the planned work, and the situation has already attracted attention at the national level.

Authorities explained the presence of heavy machinery near the park in Teremky, where the trees were being cut down.
