On July 21, news broke of yet another heartbreaking loss. Ukrainian actor Yevgen Bushmakin was killed on the front lines. He was only 45 years old. The tragic news was shared by the actor’s friend and director, Tonya Noyabrova. She posted a brief but deeply emotional message on her Instagram.
“I simply can’t breathe or speak. Zhenya is gone; it feels like my heart has been ripped out,” she wrote.
No details about the circumstances of his death have been released yet.
At the same time, the director explained how Yevgeny Bushmakin ended up at war. According to her, the actor was stopped by representatives of the Territorial Defense Forces, after which he was mobilized. He subsequently served in an assault brigade.
In her post, Noyabryova emphasized that Yevgeny was not a man of war.
“He didn’t know how to fight; he loved children and really wanted to see his son. He was an outstanding actor, teacher, and friend,” the director wrote.
