Pavlo Zibrov commented on the corruption scandal surrounding Mykhailo Poplavskyi
People's Artist of Ukraine Pavlo Zibrov spoke out in defense of Mykhailo Poplavskyi, the former rector of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, who is suspected of embezzling public funds.
The singer described his colleague’s current condition following the searches and assured that Poplavsky continues to lead a normal life and go to work.
According to Pavlo Zibrov, he personally met with Mykhailo Poplavskyi to check on his well-being and offer support during this difficult time.
The artist noted that the former university head is in good spirits and has no plans to leave the country. The law enforcement investigation is currently ongoing, but no official charges have been filed against Poplavsky yet.
“I stopped by to see him for literally five minutes, to ask how he was feeling and how his health was. He’s active. He said, ‘Pasha, everything’s fine, the fog will clear, and the truth will be on our side.’ We didn’t talk about it any further. His mood is normal, businesslike. They say he goes to work—why would he run away? They took the documents they needed; that’s all. The investigation is ongoing. They haven’t charged him with anything,” the singer shared details of the conversation.
Pavlo Zibrov also assessed the seriousness of the allegations being leveled against his colleague in show business.
In the singer’s opinion, large-scale financial fraud is unlikely in this case, since the former rector has always been known for his particular prudence and pragmatism in business matters.
Zibrov spoke about this to the project “Alone with Glamour.”
