Singer Hilary Duff releases song for The Cat in the Hat — Rolling Stone

Singer Hilary Duff has released the track CATastrophe, which will be included on the soundtrack for the animated film The Cat in the Hat. Rolling Stone reports.

The song and video

The track was created by Duff, her husband and creative partner Matthew Koma, as well as Madison Love and Brian Phillips. The song's lyrics include a reference to nine cat lives. In the video for CATastrophe, the artist unpacks boxes before finding herself in a psychedelic world styled after the works of Dr. Seuss.

On Instagram, Duff said she has long been a fan of The Cat in the Hat. According to her, Dr. Seuss's works have been a constant part of her family's life for many years. The singer explained that the song conveys the feeling of a person's familiar world suddenly changing without their consent, while she also wanted to make it a track people would want to listen to at full volume in a car.
