Six participants reach the final of Physical 100: Italy — The National

In Italy, six participants have reached the final stage of the Netflix reality show Physical Italia: da 100 a 1, the Italian version of Physical: 100. Judokas Manuel Lombardo and Emanuele Bruno, surfer Edoardo Papa, DJ Giulio Domi, footballer Matteo Sartori and firefighter Tommaso Nisi will compete for the main prize of €100,000.

As The National reports, 100 men and women aged 22 to 60 with different sporting backgrounds started the show. The participants take on challenges testing strength, endurance, speed, agility, strategy and psychological resilience, without separate male and female categories.

How the finalists were determined

The first challenge was to hold on to a structure above a pool. CrossFit athlete Elisa Fuliano achieved the best result, lasting for more than one hour and 27 minutes. At the same time, the 20 participants with the worst results were eliminated immediately.

Next, the participants competed in one-on-one contests for possession of a ball, as well as in team stages involving bridge-building, carrying sandbags and a chariot relay. Those eliminated during the competition included Olympic artistic gymnastics champion Yuri Chechi, Fuliano, and former rugby player and actor Alvise Rigo.

The final challenge

Before the final stage, 14 participants once again hung above the pool: the first eight to fall into the water left the show. After that, only six participants remained in contention for victory. They must complete five laps of an obstacle course in 20 minutes, testing strength, agility and endurance.

The Italian season premiered on September 11, and the winner is set to be determined in the eighth and final episode on October 2.
