Singer Kylie Minogue performs before AFL final in Melbourne — ABC News Australia
Australian singer Kylie Minogue performed a 20-minute show on September 26 ahead of the Australian Football League grand final at the MCG stadium in Melbourne, Australia. The concert took place before more than 100,000 spectators in the arena, ABC News Australia reports.
The singer, who described herself as “a Melbourne girl performing in her hometown,” began the programme with a video. Footage from her childhood was combined with clips of the finalist teams’ performances. Minogue then performed Love at First Sight accompanied by dancers and pyrotechnics.
Hits in 20 minutes
The programme included songs from different years, including In Your Eyes, Get Outta My Way, On a Night like This, All the Lovers, Spinning Around, Slow, The Loco-Motion and Can't Get You Out of My Head. Minogue performed Confide in Me, released in 1994, together with musician William Barton, who played the guitar. The number was accompanied by orchestral strings, gold microphones and pyrotechnics.

Australian musician G Flip joined Minogue for the performance of the 2023 hit Padam Padam. Dressed in red, the artists presented a rock version of the song. Earlier, G Flip performed in the pre-show, singing Worst Person Alive and Bed on Fire, and also played drums, string instruments and saxophone.
Flight over the stadium
At the end of the concert, Minogue emerged from a large glittering football bearing the inscription KYLIE and flew over the stadium. ABC News Australia notes that a camera flight system may have been used for this. In the air, the performer concluded Can't Get You Out of My Head in a Dom Dolla remix.
Before that, Minogue sang The Loco-Motion, joined on the field by Australian comedy duo The Inspired Unemployed. During the show, the performer changed costumes several times: from a tank top with a vintage image of her own face and black shorts to a black dress with gold details, a long gold jacket and a silver-white dress for the final flight.
