Circus Box exhibition on contemporary circus arts to open in Larnaca — Cyprus Mail
From October 3 to 16, Larnaca, Cyprus, will host Circus Box, a joint exhibition and series of performances dedicated to circus arts. The event at the EVOHK art space will be presented by Gabriella Toma, JugglingCyprus and QuantumCircus as part of Visual Voices’ Vis-à-Vis Nicosia programme, Cyprus Mail reports.
Installations, archives and performances
The exhibition will combine interactive installations, visual archives of Cyprus Circus Initiatives, circus artefacts, artworks and live performances. Training sessions in circus disciplines will also be held at EVOHK. According to the publication, the space will be transformed into a mini Carpa in central Larnaca, where visitors will be able to see rare circus objects, visual archives and circus-inspired works.
The opening is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, at 19:30. The evening programme includes two performances, while the first day is planned to conclude on the beach with a fire performance.

Round table and training

Participants in the discussion will include cultural anthropologist, geographer and juggler Gabriella Toma, Andria Spyrou of QuantumCircus, and Jean Paul of Juggling Cyprus. The discussion will be moderated by EVOHK founder Eirene Konstantinou.
Juggling Cyprus turns the car park next to Larnaca’s youth-built skatepark into a weekly space for juggling, movement practices and community building. Quantum Circus develops circus arts on the island and holds events on both sides of Cyprus’ division. Juggling gatherings and training sessions at SK8 Park Larnaca will take place on October 6 and 13.
The exhibition will be open on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 14:00, and on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 15:00 to 19:00.
