Eight films supported by Red Sea Film Foundation to be presented at TIFF in Canada

At the 51st Toronto International Film Festival in Canada, which runs from September 10 to 20, a record eight films supported by the Red Sea Film Foundation will be presented. This is the largest number of films backed by the foundation to take part in TIFF, Asharq Al-Awsat reports.

Festival programs

Seven films were selected for the Centerpiece program. Angh, directed by Theja Rio and supported by the Red Sea Fund, was included in the Platform program.

The eight films supported through the Red Sea Fund and Red Sea Souk include A Girl Unknown, Angh, Ben’Imana, Conversation with the Sea, Four Seasons in Java, Soumsoum, the Night of the Stars, The Violinist and We Are All Strangers.

TIFF film market

The Red Sea Film Foundation will also take part in the first TIFF: The Market, the film festival’s official content market. It will run from September 10 to 16 at the Metro Toronto Convention Center. The seven-day international platform will bring together representatives of the film industry, series production and innovative fields, including creators, producers, buyers, sales agents, financiers, distributors and platform representatives.

Red Sea Souk Director Holly Daniel will join The Summit. Red Sea Film Foundation CEO Faisal Baltyuor called the record presence at TIFF an important milestone for the foundation and praised the filmmakers and projects supported by the organization.
