Russian attacks have left consumers in three regions without power
As of the morning of July 23, new power outages have been reported in three regions of Ukraine as a result of Russian attacks. Power companies are working to restore electricity to all consumers, according to Ukrenergo.
“Due to Russian shelling of civilian energy infrastructure, there are new power outages as of this morning in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions. Emergency repair work is already underway wherever safety conditions currently permit,” the Ukrenergo statement said.
It is noted that electricity consumption is in line with seasonal trends. As of 9:30 a.m. on July 23, it was at the same level as the previous day.
Yesterday, July 22, the daily peak in consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 2.8% lower than the peak of the previous day—Tuesday, July 21. The reason is a drop in air temperature across Ukraine, which has led to reduced consumer demand for air conditioning.
Ukrenergo also emphasized that it is advisable to shift the use of high-power electrical appliances today to the period when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently—from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Previously, following the Russian Federation’s attack and severe weather, the number of power outages in Ukraine had increased.
As a reminder, people have been killed in the Kyiv region due to the Russian attack, and evacuations are ongoing.
In addition, during the Russian terrorists’ attack on Kyiv on the night of July 6, the home of actress and TV host Olena Kravets was damaged.
