Estlink 1 cable between Estonia and Finland to undergo maintenance
According to ERR News, the Estlink 1 subsea power cable connecting Estonia and Finland will undergo scheduled maintenance from August 27 to 31. The source notes that the work will last four days. It is being carried out as part of preparations for more extensive maintenance scheduled for next year.
Preparations for lengthy work
During the work on the cable, system operators Elering and Fingrid will, among other things, prepare for a two-month maintenance period next year. Elering board member Reigo Kebja said that regular maintenance of electricity connections is necessary to maintain the reliability of Estonia’s energy system.

Schedule for next year
The extended scheduled maintenance of Estlink 1 is to take place in two stages. The first is planned from March 15 to May 16, and the second from July 19 to August 2. Thus, the August work is a shorter stage that will precede the cable maintenance scheduled for next year.
