China and IEA sign three-year energy cooperation plan — ECNS

China's National Energy Administration and the International Energy Agency have signed a three-year cooperation plan to deepen interaction in the energy sector. ECNS reports.

Meeting in Beijing

Wang Hongzhi, head of China's National Energy Administration, recently met in Beijing with Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency. The sides discussed developments in the international energy situation and cooperation in this area.

Wang Hongzhi said that the International Energy Agency plays an important role in promoting the stability of global energy markets. He also expressed hope for deepening practical cooperation.

Statement by Fatih Birol

Fatih Birol noted China's technological achievements and the reduction in technology costs, which, according to him, help advance the global energy transition. The IEA Executive Director added that he hopes to work with China to promote sustainable energy development worldwide.
