China built over 2,500 km of main oil and gas pipelines in 2026 — ECNS
China has built more than 2,500 kilometers of new main oil and gas pipelines since the start of 2026. The total length of the national main pipeline network has reached 112,900 kilometers, ECNS reports, citing official data.
The network covers 30 regions
The interconnected pipeline network now covers 30 provincial-level administrative units, as well as the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Among the key facilities, ECNS names the recently commissioned Lian-Huai section of the Lianyungang–Yizheng oil pipeline in Jiangsu Province. According to the publication, it has significantly strengthened energy security along the Yangtze River.

Plans through 2030
Pipeline networks are also being expanded to counties and local communities to improve energy delivery at the final stage. According to ECNS, this benefits tens of thousands of households in Fujian, Guizhou and other regions.
Under national plans, China is to add another 20,000 kilometers of long-distance transportation pipelines by 2030. ECNS also reports that the total length of the long-distance oil and gas pipeline network is expected to grow to 220,000 kilometers.
