Koretskyy Stated That Ukraine Is Better Prepared for Winter
On September 12, Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi stated that Ukraine is much better prepared for winter than it was a year ago. According to him, the government has Plans A, B, and C in case of Russian attacks.
He made these remarks during a conversation with Zennie Minton Beddoes, editor-in-chief of The Economist, at the YES–2026 meeting.
“Winter is the main challenge, and we are preparing for it. We are accelerating work on our resilience plans: protecting energy infrastructure and preparing decentralized solutions to ensure the functioning of critical facilities,” Koretskyi noted.
He emphasized that lessons have been learned from last winter—“we are significantly better prepared for attacks than we were a year ago.”
“We have Plans A, B, and C—including the worst-case scenario. There is no other option but to get through this winter with dignity,” Koretsky emphasized.
As a reminder, part of the Rivne region was left without power due to Russian shelling.

As a reminder, overnight, the Russians fired Kalibr missiles at a high-rise building in Odesa.
In the Black Sea near Odesa, two sailors from Azerbaijan were killed on September 9 as a result of a drone attack on the Somali-flagged tugboat TEDY.
In Odesa, on September 10, a Russian attack damaged warehouse buildings belonging to a volunteer organization where humanitarian aid and essential supplies were stored.
