More than 130 energy facilities have already been protected from Russian shelling

Since the end of winter, protective structures have been erected in Ukraine for more than 130 energy infrastructure facilities, including power substations, water and sewerage facilities, district heating plants, and boiler rooms in frontline regions.

This was reported by Serhiy Sukhomlyn, head of the State Agency for Infrastructure Restoration and Development. According to him, over 95% of the planned energy protection projects were completed within four to five months.

He noted that most of the structures are designed primarily to protect against attacks by kamikaze drones. At the same time, some substations have already withstood not only dozens of drone attacks but also direct hits from two cruise missiles.

As a reminder, in the Chernihiv region, about 7,000 people were left without power due to a Russian strike.

We also recall that on the night of July 23, 2026, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out strikes against a number of key military and military-economic targets of the Russian occupiers as part of a systematic effort to reduce their capabilities.
