In June, Ukraine imported 295,000 MWh of electricity, which is 25% less than in May. At the same time, Ukraine’s electricity exports rose by 61% to 151,500 MWh.
The structure of imports changed the most. Supplies from Poland fell by 71%, while imports from Slovakia rose sharply following the completion of repairs to the interstate power transmission line—from 941 MWh in May to 74,3 thousand MWh in June. Hungary remains the largest supplier, accounting for 42% of total imports.
Despite the monthly decline in purchases, electricity imports are still 42% higher year-over-year compared to June of last year.
In the first half of 2026, Ukraine imported 4.3 million MWh of electricity, while exporting only 309 thousand MWh. Thus, imports exceeded exports by nearly 14 times.
