Barcelona fintech startup Stamp secures €4 million investment

After four years in Barcelona, the startup Stamp has secured €4 million in funding to develop its service that simplifies VAT refunds for tourists.

Stamp enables travelers to claim VAT refunds without the hassle of receipts, early airport queues, or long waits at tax-free counters. Buyers can now obtain refunds directly in the store or via an app, avoiding lengthy delays.

The company also launched a partnership with FC Barcelona, integrating its software into the club’s fan stores, expanding customer reach and strengthening its brand presence.

Stamp is actively operating in Spain, Italy, and Portugal—markets known for heavy tourist traffic and clear VAT regulations, which facilitate the effectiveness of the service.

The raised capital will be used to further expand Stamp’s footprint across European markets and implement AI-powered automation, enhancing customer experience and streamlining operations.

This development could transform the VAT refund process in tourism, making it faster and more convenient for travelers moving forward.
