Large investors may threaten Ethereum - Buterin

Vitaly Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, expressed concern at the Devconnect conference about the influence of large investors on this blockchain ecosystem. He noted that institutional influence can lead to the loss of the values on which the project is based, in particular, the activity and ideals of the developer community. If Ethereum turns into a tool for large financial institutions, it could alienate those who have been building the network's infrastructure for a long time.

Buterin pointed to two specific dangers. The first is the possibility of losing engineering talent, without which Ethereum could lose its technical expertise and ideological foundation. The second threat is the change in technical parameters that can be adapted to the requirements of institutional investors, which, according to Buterin, will make it difficult to use the platform in cryptoasset strategies.

To prevent these threats, Buterin called for maintaining a focus on the protocol's openness, globalization, and resilience to support the stability and development of Ethereum as a decentralized platform.
