The minimum wage in Ukraine could rise to 9,400 hryvnia in 2027

The Cabinet of Ministers forecasts an increase in Ukraine’s minimum wage from the current 8,600 UAH to 9,400 UAH in 2027. This figure is included in the budget declaration, although the final decision may still be revised.

At the same time, experts note that such an increase may prove insufficient. If the average wage continues to grow at the current rate, the minimum wage will amount to only about 26% of the average wage, which is one of the lowest figures in Europe.

It is also emphasized that the minimum wage in Ukraine remains below the actual subsistence minimum, which is currently estimated at approximately 12,000 UAH per month.

Experts believe that a significant increase in the minimum wage in the future could help reduce poverty, bring income out of the shadows, and increase budget revenues.

In Ukraine, real wages are lower than official figures, according to an expert.

Ukraine has updated the average wage figures used to calculate pensions.

Pension funding for Ukrainianswas increased in April.
