Safe daily cola intake is about 200 ml, say doctors

Doctors advise limiting daily cola consumption to around 200 ml, which is less than a standard 0.33-litre can. Excessive intake of this drink can cause serious health issues, including increased risks of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular problems due to its high sugar content.

Additionally, fizzy drinks may weaken bones. For instance, in China, a 35-year-old cola enthusiast broke his femur while coughing, with tests revealing his bones were as brittle as those of an elderly person. Sugar-free colas are not entirely safe either — although they contain fewer calories, the high acidity of the drink still damages tooth enamel.

Experts emphasise that controlling consumption of fizzy drinks is crucial for maintaining health and recommend limiting their intake to avoid long-term adverse effects.
